TROOPS DEPLOYMENT IN WESTERN SECTOR

The 1st and 2nd Battalion Malay Regiment, together with the 2nd Loyals Regiment defended the western and southern parts of Singapore from 8th to 14th February 1942.


1st Battalion Malay Regiment
Commanded by Lieutenant-Colonel J.R.G. Andre, the 1st Battalion consisted of less than 3 Sections of the Mortar Platoon, Anti-Aircraft Platoon with the Bren Gun Carrier Platoon under Captain R.R.C. Carter held in reserve.

"B" Company under Major G.P. Richards
"C" Company under Captain H.R. Rix
"D" Company under Captain E.H.S. Bretherton


2nd Battalion Malay Regiment
