Japanese troops penetrated the Jurong area. Scattered fighting on the "C" Company front. Men of the 2nd Battalion were driven back east of the Jurong River. Under enemy pressure, 44th Indian Brigade withdrew, thus exposing the right flank of the 2nd Battalion.
